Raise the Roof for Haiti
With as many as a million Haitians now homeless and the rain and hurricane season on the way, the need for short-term and permanent shelters is urgent. Working together, the Alabama Community College System can make a tremendous impact.
The RAISE the ROOF campaign supports Habitat for Humanity, an organization with more than 25 years of experience in Haiti making simple, small shelters that have withstood hurricanes and even the recent earthquake. All donations go directly to Habitat International’s Haiti Relief Fund.
Who can RAISE the ROOF the highest?
Here’s how to make sure donations from employees, students and partners are counted for Calhoun. When you make an online donation, make sure you check the corporate donation box then the Company Name box will appear--enter "Calhoun" exactly as it is shown in quotes. Use your own personal address, though. These steps ensure that each donor will receive an e-mailed receipt for tax purposes, and Habitat will keep track of the donations by institution. Simple! .
