| Student grades for BIO 103 will be determined according to the following method: |
Add the scores that you receive on the
FOUR, 100 point, lecture tests and
call this your LECTURE TEST SUBTOTAL. |
Add the scores of your LAB TEST 1 (Out of 30) and LAB TEST 2 (Out of 30) and LAB TEST 3 (Out of 40 points), plus the 10 points for EACH signed lab checklist on LABS 1 through 10. DIVIDE this sum by 2 and call the result your LAB SUBTOTAL. |
| Test I |
86 |
| Test II |
75 |
| Test III |
90 |
| Test IV |
93 |
| LECTURE TEST SUBTOTAL = 344 |
| Quiz 1 |
23 / 30 |
| Quiz 2 |

| Quiz 3 |

| Lab 10 |

| SUM |
175 |
175 |
| LAB SUBTOTAL = 175 |
Now, add the LECTURE TEST SUBTOTAL to the LAB SUBTOTAL and Topic Quiz Total and Practice Test Average and compare to ranges below: |
| LECTURE TEST SUBTOTAL = 344 |
| plus LAB SUBTOTAL = 175 |
| Topic Quiz = 100 and Practice Average = 100 |
| Range Total = 719 |
| This would result in a grade of "B" for the term. |
| Grade Ranges |
| A Range = 720 - 800 total points |
These ranges are ABSOLUTE and FINAL - students should NOT expect or assume that the instructor will automatically bump you up a point or two if you get real close - I DON'T DO THAT!
Here are your grade ranges - GO GET 'EM!
| B Range = 640 - 720 total points |
| C Range = 552 - 632 total points |
| D Range = 472 - 552 total points |
| F Range = Less than 472 total points |

| Students are NOT required to read along in the text for this course. Many students are simply taking too many courses, or are too busy in the labs to read this much material. However, it has been my observation over the years that students who take the time and make the effort to cover the material in the text BEFORE coming into the classroom do significantly better in the class than students who skip the reading altogether. |
