Not common in Alabama, but this photograph was taken in Desoto State Park where it grows nicely in one or two spots. Like many red, tubular flowers, Columbine, is pollinated by Hummingbirds who use their long tongues to reach the sweet nectar that collects in the far ends of the flower.
