Maidenhair Fern
Full List
Adiantum pedatum - Slide #1

This fern is usually found in shady, moist areas along streams or brooks. The veins in the PINNAE (leaflets) are arranged in a fashion that resembles long straight hair and gives the fern its name. It is also sometimes called "NeverWet" because the waxy CUTICLE (covering) of the pinnae causes them to shed water and raindrops quickly.
