Photographed in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Occurs in several localities within the park, but my favorite area to see them is on the trail to Porter's Flat out of the Greenbrier area. This trail is rich with wildflowers of all types and is not too strenuous. The trail is well worth hiking during the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage that is usually held on the last weekend of April in the park.
