Solomon's Seal
Full List
Polygonatum biflorum - Slide #64

This is an unusual view of Solomon's Seal, but perhaps the best view as well to understand its common name. The hanging flowers resemble the small, carved, wooden "seals" that people would use to place their mark in the wax that sealed letters and documents in olden times. King Solomon was the source of the first part of the name. Common in Alabama, particularly the rich woods of the northern part of the state.
