Scattered in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Related to our cultivated strawberries which are actually a hybrid between this and a South American species. Do not confuse this with the yellow-flowered MOCK SRAWBERRY which is a common lawn weed that makes foul tasting fruits superficially resembling a real strawberry.
