Wake Robin, Toadshade, Stinking Willie, Little Sweet Betsy - all of these are common names for this plant. It is one of the more common Trillium species of North Alabama. This plant often stands a foot or more tall, and actually occurs in two or three color forms. I have seen maroon, yellow and green flowers in the same population at Newsome Sinks in northeastern Morgan County near Brewer High School.
