Field trips are unique learning opportunities for Calhoun students - see why here!
In the Spring of 1990 I took a bunch of Calhoun students out west for a grand adventure. We visited places that I hadn't seen in 15 years - the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountain National Park, Chiricahua National Monument in Arizona. That trip was such a wonderful experience for us all that I have continued to offer similar trips each year ever since.

The principal trip that I offer now is a Spring Break Rafting Trip to magnificent Big Bend National Park in western Texas.
Why just go to Florida like everybody else? Come with us to Santa Elena Canyon on the US-Mexican Border for three days of rafting and camping along the Rio Grande River - a national wild and scenic river - and visit the small Mexican village of Boquillas while we are there.
Come back with some really great stories and tell everybody that you earned 2 semester hours of biology credit as well! All they did was get sunburned on the beach - pretty lame!
