You are given the following:

Time: 1 hour or 60 minutes

Drip set: 60 gtt/mL

Drip rate: 30 gtt/min

WT: Not needed

VOH: Not needed (since we are giving a bolus and not an IV drip, VOH is not needed)

Solve for: DO

Solution:

1.) Plug in what you know!

30 gtt/min = (DO) (60 gtt/mL)

60 min

2.) Solve for DO. (Remember you can do anything you want to one side of the equal sign as long as you do the same to the other side.)

30 gtt/min(60 min) = (DO) (60 gtt/mL) (60 min)

(60 gtt/mL) 60 min (60 gtt/mL)

3.) Lets clean up our problem!
